Using a Card Sketch to Make Batch Cards.

Greetings from Michigan. I am currently prepping for a craft sale so I have been making as many Christmas themed items as I can to be ready.  I made a bunch of vintage style cards recently and decided I had spent enough on that style.  I pulled out a different pad of winter theme paper and decided to make some card sets using a card sketc pick a Follow along to see my steps involved.

Supplies : Card sketch, patterned paper, plain paper, paper trimmer, embossing powder, embossing ink, adhesive, spectrum sparkle pen (someday I need to look up the official name of that pen because I use it on almost all my cards)

Pick your paper.  Sometimes I pick my sketch first but this time I wanted to use the checkered snowflake patterned paper. I picked a large patter, a small pattern and a sort of medium pattern. My stash had some solids that I pulled out to use for mats if needed.  I picked some nice shiny paper as these are holiday cards and will need some sparkle and shine.

Pick your card sketch. I have a binder that I have filled with card sketches.  When watching TV I usually need a second activity so I read recipe books, organize paper, or page through my card sketch binder. This card sketch is from Splitcoast stampers. I had a checkered paper that I thought would mimic the four squares without actually having to cut out the four tiny squares.

I cut my checkered paper down to an appropriate size to mimic the four small squares. The three plain squares were to plain so I stamped a sentiment in embossing ink,  diagonal from the snowflake using a Christmas stamp from Hot Off The Press.

White embossing powder was used on the embossing ink to bring together the winter aspect of the card.I matted the image on  some pretty, gray paper to separate if from the patterened papers it would be on.

My background papers were cut so they would cover my card base allowing for the row of snowflakes to peek out the top and the sparkly blue paper to act as a pseudo ribbon separating my small pattern from my top snowflakes.

I adhered all the pieces and parts together using double sided tape. Added a little sparkle pen to the snowflake and call it finished. Relatively quick and easy card that is a little on the plain side but I was able to churn out several in a very short amount of time. Thanks for stopping by.
