Traveling Notepad Holder

This week Art Impressions challenge was to come up with something for the desktop. Not sure if my item really qualifies but we make post it note pads with mini pens. My sister and I make these to sell at craft shows and the are well received. They are great for purses but will also work for those teachers that maybe roll a cart from class to class or even nurses in an office that need something to quickly make a reminder note to themselves. I was one of the nurses that was constantly jotting things on my palm and back of my hand. A women never admits to her age but this comment will date me sure enough. I would joke with my patients that it was a poor nurses version of a “Palm Pilot”. This would have worked well for me although it might not have held up to the wear and tear of hospital work but it does work well for my current desk job. Ours comes with a little mini pen attached. I found these at Staples if anyone is wondering.

I add a little pen holder to the top so that you don’t have to search the bottom of your purse, desk draw, or briefcase to find a pen. Just below you can see that there is a lip that covers the back of the pen to help protect it from just ripping off at the loop.

I added a small velcro dot to hold the lid shut. Both sides have a pretty little watercolor picture attached to brighten your day. Shh, I just realized I forgot to paint the sky in on the front of the pad. See everyone makes mistakes but this will be easy to fix.

Below is my is my prototype with measurements. If anyone is interested in a step by step blog post let me know and I will be happy to add it. Thanks for stopping by.
