Hedgehogs and Sloths.

My card today features some watercoloring with Arteza brush markers, some adorable Art impressions stamps and some homemade washi tape paper. Recently I inherited a lot of washi tape from a coworker that is moving. I was playing around with it and decided to make my own calico quilt type paper with similar tape. It came out very vibrant and rather boisterous in nature which is not my usual style at all but I decided to go with it and see what I could make with it.

Art Impressions published their next challenge called Furry Friends and I wanted to try and incorporate my washi tape paper with some of my furry friends stamps I have in my stash. I started with this adorable hedgehog from their Hedgehog Set. I stamped on watercolor paper and used my Arteza Brush markers to color him. I just love his little popped balloon.

I felt he needed something to explain why his he had been startled enough to pop his balloon. I wanted to to mirror image one of my other hedgehogs but my technique was not working enough to produce a clear image so I shuffled through my stash and I saw my sloths from my Sloth-some Set. Okay I know a sloth moves super slow and would not startle anyone, but a speaking sloth now that just might startle a hedgehog. I colored him in with my Arteza brush pens also.

I decided to make a shaker card so I cut my window into my washi tape paper and backed everything on navy blue and a white card base. Some glossy accents on the balloon to make it shine and I was done. I had tried a sentiment sentiment on the bottom but felt it just was too much so I removed it. I love these little critters and how much fun they are to color. Thanks for stopping by today.
