Munching Monster Birthday Card.
Greetings from sunny Michigan. Today is bright, cloud free and gorgeous. A few posts ago I mentioned that I would be trying to enter a few sketch and or color challenges. I am somewhat limited because a lot of them require the use of their stamps and my collection is just beginning. Your Next Stamp doesn’t require this but I happen to have a few of their sets and wanted to try my hand at their sketch and color challenge number 88.
I used their Silly Monster stamp set and put my monster in the top corner. The paper has bright colorful glittery circles that look good enough to eat, so I couldn’t resist making it look like he was having a snack while he was hanging out on the card.
I colored the monster with Master Markers on Cryogen paper as the paper has a slight sparkle to it. (Unfortunately the photo does not do the sparkles justice) I haven’t made the investment in Copics yet but I bought a set of Master Markers off of Amazon just to see what alcohol markers are all about. These are not refillable so I figure if I use them and they dry out then I will replace them with Copics in a similar color. If I don’t use a color then I obviously don’t need to spend the money on a refillable version.
The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Ink and heat embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle Clear embossing powder. I used a plain old hole punch to take bite marks out of the top of the patterned card stock and then glued several of the punch pieces around the card to make it look like he is a messy eater and give the card dimension. This would be cute for a young nephew and it was a quick and easy card to put together. I didn’t use any dimensional tape this time so it would be easy to mail.
Thanks for checking my card out.
