My First Never Ending Card
So I decided to make a never-ending card for this weeks Art Impression Challenge to create an interactive card. This card would really benefit from a video to really show how it works. Each panel flips to the next picture until you go full circle and arrive back at your original picture. Please keep in mind this is my prototype so I kept everything very simple just using some distres oxide ink as a frame around the focal image and almost no emelishment. I am not sure I would actually give this to anyone but I had to start somewhere.
I didn’t want things to clash so, I made sure to use the same green yellow red and brown groupings of prismacolor pencils for each panel so that the color scheme would flow from scene to scene.
Overall I like how my sentiments flow from one scene to the next and I love the little sloths that are so very cute from Art Impressions. I was coloring some of my images at work and my coworker asked me for a sloth birthday card for her daughter. Apparently they are her daughters favorite animal so yeah I get to break out this stamp set again!
I was disappointed in how my distress oxides turned ou tafter I spritzed them with water. I also used a glimmer spray to give it shine but on some of the panels it came out splotchy and just made the card look dirty in the pictures. Part of my issue was, I left the background until after the card was assembled. As this was my prototype I wasn’t sure how the backgrounds flowed from one panel to the next so I waited until it was assembled to try and sponge in the background. Not a great idea! Next time I will complete the stamping and background prior to adhering the panels together.
I didn’t feel I could embellish with a lot of extra ephemera as the panels need to be able to freely flip from one scene to another. Overall I give this card a solid 5 out of 10. I think it is good for a prototype and will give me some good ideas for my next attempt at an endless card but not good enough for me to gift to anyone. Thanks for stopping by, let me know if you have any questions about it flips from scene to scene.
