Autumn Card with Distress Oxides Inks
Hello it is autumn in Michigan and the beautiful colors are all around. With all the beautiful colors autumn would be my favorite season if it didn’t mean winter was around the corner. I decided to take a hint from nature this week and make a card that reflects the colors around me.
To make this card you will need: A large die with a floral motif, Kraft Core Cardstock, sanding tool, Distress Oxide Inks, Sentiment stamp, Brads, White cardstock, adhesive of your choice.
I used black Kraft-Core cardstock as I wanted a dark look to this card and felt the kraft center of the paper would add dimension when I sanded it. I used the Sunflower Petals Die by Simply Defined. It is perfect for an A2 size card making a large focal point. I die cut the black cardstock then sent it through my Bigkick using my embossing plates.
Using my sanding block I sanded some of the raised areas to bring out the kraft color.
My next step was to take Neenah Solar White 80# paper and ink blend Distress oxide inks in brown, red, orange and yellow. Spritzed it with water to distress it and then added my glimmer spray to give it some bling. Once everything dried I lined the inked paper up behind the die and trimmed it to the sized of the die cut image and adhered them together.
I used an orange cardstock and white card base to layer everything. Last I stamped my sentiment on a scrap of Neenah Solar White cardstock added some matching brads and adhered this to the front of my card. Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what your favorite se
